Thank you for considering an ARF pup. Most puppies receive many enquiries, and we aim to match the right dog to the right home so that they can enjoy a happy life together. If your enquiry is unsuccessful, rest assured that the foster carer has carefully based their decision on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the dog’s needs.
Cruz is assessed as being in the Bronze category in our Perfect Match system and will be available at the special price of $400 (incl GST) which includes microchipping, desexing, C3 vaccination, worming and $100 contribution towards training classes once he is old enough to be adopted.
NOTE: Please read all of the profile and refer to the breed information below prior to enquiring. Cruz needs an experienced, dog oriented home who will be able to provide his needs. Only appropriate homes to keep him safe (super secure fencing) and provide appropriate training and exercise will be considered.

Cruz is an Ibizan Hound, a very rare breed in Australia. Ibizans (or Beezers as they are affectionately known) are loving, friendly, playful and people oriented dogs, who also get along well with other dogs. They need inclusion in the family along with another playful dog to burn off some of their energy to keep them happy and ensure that they don’t become bored and potentially destructive or noisy. The Ibizan is very athletic and can jump 6ft from a stand still and is an adept climber.
Beezers are great at problem solving – so kitchen benches and even on top of the refrigerator are easy targets. They need to have their brain and body exercised DAILY to keep them happy (as well as a very secure yard of a minimum of 6ft). Beezers have a high prey drive and are therefore not suited to homes with small animals. They are also not a dog that you can let off-leash unless you are in a very secure fenced area. As the Beezer matures (mentally occurs much later than physically), it will need a good run every day but also will be content to have periods of chilling out. An affectionate and fun dog, the Beezer can be a rewarding member of the family however they are not a dog for everyone due to their high management needs. Apparently around the world they are used in dog high jumping, obedience, agility, lure coursing, hunting, etc.
Cruz is new into care but at 5 weeks is already showing amazing problem solving abilities. He worked out how to get around the house on his first adventure, he even knew that to get into the puppy pen for something, he would need to go to the far end of the puppy pen and go through the crate to get inside – he did this without any effort at all.
Cruz is enjoying interacting and playing with the other dogs in the household as well as his littermate, Mika. Cruz is a sweet little fellow and is only just coming into his own and is ready to start life with an inclusive and active family that can meet his needs.
