Thank you for considering an ARF dog. Most dogs receive several enquiries, and we aim to match the right dog to the right home so that they can enjoy a happy life together. If your enquiry is unsuccessful, rest assured that the foster carer has carefully based their decision on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the dog’s needs.
Finch is assessed as being in the Silver category in our Perfect Match system and is microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and available for $350 (incl GST).
The Finchmeister hit our doorstep two weeks ago and hasn’t let the dust settle since. This little guy is one smart little cookie who completely suffers from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)! If there is something happening Finch wants to be a part of it. He lurrrrrrrrrrrrves school!! Learning is his thang… he gives 110%. Gotta love that!
Though this busy lad is pretty darn adventurous and into life, at times he can find new situations a little daunting. We are getting him out into the big wide world as much as possible. Never fear though, it doesn’t take him long to warm up and he is growing more and more confident each day.
Finch is currently residing with his foster siblings and loves to elicit chasies with whomever might pander to his requests. He is a very social boy who really enjoys meeting any dog he can. He’s also been attending classes swotting away to impress all he meets.
Finch absolutely loves the car and travels without a peep in his crate.
Since landing at his foster home Finch has been learning some general house manners and basic obedience such as Loose Lead Walking, sit, drop, crate training and waiting for his food. He has also been learning about looking to his handler for guidance, self control and general confidence building exercises. Finch will need continued structure and training to allow him to blossom to his full potential; something he has shown himself to be very keen to do.
We can totally see this boy headed to work every day wearing his hard hat … whilst also imagining him heading out adventuring with his kids, climbing rocks and chasing grasshoppers… top that off with a sport dog home and we’ll move in with him.
Finch would ideally like another dog to annoy (*ahem*, play with) during the day, but would quite likely be able to be a single dog as long as his people are able to entertain that brain and energy in other ways. He really does enjoy canine company and play. Never fear though, he’s pretty darn happy spending time with you as well. This little man is so happy and eager to please. His people are going to get the coolest companion and best friend ever!
