Hank

Hank

Animal ID No: ARF500
Rescue Date: 30 June 2020
Adopted Date: 22 July 2020

Hank is a sweet and gentle dog who has recently come into foster care and is still settling in to his new home. Since coming into care, Hank has shown his friendly and loving nature. Some of his favourite things are; first and foremost his humans, treats and treat puzzles, his humans, snuggles, snuggling humans, sniffing, scratching, receiving scratches, and nibbling gently on his HUMANS. As you may have guessed, Hank is a dog that absolutely adores spending time with people, and is set to make a loyal and loving companion to any one who will give him love in return.

Hank has had a bit of a rough start in life and is quite reserved when meeting new people, and can take a little while to trust strangers, but once he gets to know you is an absolute snuggle muffin. He loves getting ear scratches and kisses from his foster mum, and loves snuggling up on the floor next to his humans feet to be close to them and is the wiggliest happiest boy when his family return home from work at the end of the day.

Hank is toilet and crate trained and is a generally a very polite house guest. He spends most of the day snoozing and sniffing. When left alone, Hank prefers to spend his day outside in the yard where he can potter around and entertain himself. When he is left alone in the house he can be a little confused and worried. We think this is probably just due to him always being an outside dog in his previous life, so it is likely he just needs to get used to spending some time alone inside so he can feel comfortable. Because of this Hank would ideally suit a family with a decent sized and secure yard with some coverage for when it rains.

Hank does not have a great deal of training and only knows sit, but loves to work for treats, so a family that can continue to teach him new things and help grow his confidence over time is a must. Hank loves to make his people happy, so will enjoy and benefit from someone who wants to teach him a few tricks and commands.

When meeting other dogs, Hank can be quite intense and forward, and will not be suitable for a home with other dogs. When out on walks, Hank is generally well behaved but will try to pull towards other dogs if he gets too close, and can cause other dogs to get upset with his reactive behaviour, so will need to always be walked on a leash and kept out of dog parks. He will need a home where he is the only dog, and strong secure fences in the yard.

If you are looking for a sweet and loyal new family member, and fit the criteria above, please fill out an enquiry form at the bottom of this page or email Hanks foster carer with some details about yourself. Please don’t hesitate to contact of you have any questions.
