Sophie

Sophie is a gentle & affectionate dog, about 6 years old. She has not been exposed to the wider world much, slowly building her confidence during daily walks. While she is fond of people, she is cautious with other dogs, (particularly dogs off lead), barking if another dog comes too close for her comfort. For this reason, she is not a dog who would enjoy a visit to the dog park. She has had some training which can be built on, she responds well to a well-timed treat. Her recall in the back yard is good. She is clean & quiet inside overnight, preferring to sleep on a lounge than a comfortable dog bed. Sophie is a talented escape artist, climbing a gate, slipping collars & harness. She will need a secure yard, with fencing that has no foot holds, colour bond or similar. She cannot be tied up & left unattended in public. Sophie can live with a cat, following a careful introduction. She would do well with another calm & confident dog who can give her space to begin with.
