Thank you for considering an ARF dog. Most dogs receive several enquiries, and we aim to match the right dog to the right home so that they can enjoy a happy life together. If your enquiry is unsuccessful, rest assured that the foster carer has carefully based their decision on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the dog’s needs.

Wednesday is assessed as being in the Silver category in our Perfect Match system and will be microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, wormed and available for $350 (incl GST) once her vetwork and quarantine are completed.

Wednesday’s ride from the Pound

Has your playful dog been bored, and a bit lonely lately? Has he been giving you wistful and guilt-inducing looks that clearly say ‘a friend would be nice, right about now’? Then have I got just the dog for you!

Because as far as Wednesday is concerned, nothing, absolutely nothing is better than playing with dogs (actually, human pats are her other favourites, but we’ll get to that later)! She likes to play in the morning; she likes to play in the afternoons…

She’s always ready for a game, and, if no one else is asking, she’ll get the game going by bopping them with her nose. You can watch her playing with her friends at, and here are her desperate attempts to play with an unwilling participant

And yet, for such a happy, playful dog, Wednesday has a beautiful, calm temperament, and has been a delight to have in foster care.

She never complains, tries really hard to do what is asked of her, and will happily go to her bed for a nap, until someone—dog or human—is ready for a new adventure.

Wednesday is also super smart, and quickly learned all the house rules, which she follows with no trouble, worked out the dog door, which she uses to take herself to the toilet, and learned to go into her crate on command within a couple of days, where she sleeps quietly at night.

She travels quietly in the car, has mastered walking on a loose lead because she wants all the treats (though she needs a quick reminder when first heading out), and, though a little unsure in new situations, she takes the general world view that if her human is happy, then she’s happy too.

Now to the aforementioned pats—Wednesday loves to know she is safe and loved. She never demands affection, but when it is forthcoming, she falls over herself in happiness (in fact, she’s learning that affection will keep coming, and there is no need to get so worked up about it). She thinks nighttime cuddles before bed are the absolute best, and she never wants them to end!

Oh, and bonus, she has never trashed anything, not even the hammock chairs that hang enticingly on the deck, nor the tempting washing drying in the sun.

wednesdaysnoot Wednesday is looking for a home where she will be allowed inside, to be part of family life, with a family prepared to continue her training to use that smarty-pants brain of hers.

She would really like an equally playful friend, but would cope as a single dog, provided her human is home a lot, and takes her on lots of playdates with dog friends, or to the dog park.

In return, Wednesday will be the most loving, loyal friend anyone could ask for!
