Breed: Terrier mix Size: Small Age: about 2 to 3 years?

Thank you for considering an ARF dog. Most dogs receive several enquiries, and we aim to match the right dog to the right home so that they can enjoy a happy life together. If your enquiry is unsuccessful, rest assured that the foster carer has carefully based their decision on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the dog’s needs.

Missy is assessed as being in the Silver category in our Perfect Match system and will be desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and available for $350 (incl GST) once her quarantine and vet work are completed.

This little Miss is a delight. She came into care an unknown quantity with her dog to dog skills and with little evident training or interest in toys.

Missy has been in care now for just over a week and has settled wonderfully. She loves people of all ages and sizes and is very fond of cuddles but happy to sleep near you on the floor on on her bed.

missyt - 2

She loves playing chasey and bitey face with her foster brother, Leroy, and has learned from him a rather too interested approach to the family cat, so would perhaps be better suited to a catless home or one with a dog savvy cat.

missyt - 3

Missy is not a yapper though she will join Leroy’s alerting woof when someone comes down the driveway.

She has lovely indoor manners and sleeps quietly through the night. Because Missy is still in quarantine I have not taken her out and about much but she has enjoyed visits to a few friends’ homes. She travels well in the car and met their families and dogs nicely.

Once her vet work is complete and we have the opportunity to work on her socialisation I will write more on this profile.

Olive is a pretty special young pup who recently arrived in care. She has managed to fit into her foster home very quickly and is already part of the family. She’s totally embraced the craziness that is our house, living with 3 young kids and 2 resident dogs.

Olivesnug - 1

Olive is very much a snuggle bum, she just loves being with people and will quite often lean up against you or rest her head on you. Despite her size, she does fancy herself as a bit of a lap dog. Olive has been fantastic with the kids as well. She really seems to love being around them and is very gentle with them. She is not jumpy or mouthy like young pups often are and despite her size, she has been careful not to knock the kids over.

Training: Olive already knows “sit” and “drop”. We are currently working on “wait” and “stay”. She is almost completely toilet trained and is taking to crate training like a natural. She is quite easy to manage out and about on a lead but we are continuing to work on this some more. Like all pups, Olive’s training with need to be continued, to ensure she develops into good canine citizen.

Olive would suit a home where she is allowed inside and included as part of the family activities. She doesn’t require another dog for company (as long as someone is home more often than not) but if she was to have a doggie companion, it would need to be one that has a calm nature.

Please note: Olive is already around 25kg at 6 months old so will be a large dog when fully grown (photos of her are a bit deceiving on the size)

This delightful girl has only just arrived in ARF care from the pound; she has recently raised a litter of pups, and this is why her carer has given her the name Mumma Mia.

Annie in Pound

Annie has been in foster care for a couple of weeks now and to say she is an easy girl to live with is an understatement.

Annie arrives in the land of plenty

Annie arrives in the land of plenty

She enjoys the indoor life, lounging around on her bed. She is always up for a cuddle and has lovely indoor manners, appears toilet trained, gets on well with my dogs and cats and doesn’t bark.

Annie is not quite ready for adoption while we sort out a lameness she has in her front leg and once we get to the bottom of that she would love nothing more than to be a lounge lizard in some one’s house being pampered and having lots of cuddles.

Keep an eye out in the next few weeks for Annie to be up for adoption
