Banjo

Banjo

Animal ID No: ARF690
Rescue Date: 17 February 2021
Adopted Date: 7 April 2021

Banjo is a smart, lively, friendly, inquisitive small-to-medium sized 6 month old pup who loves meeting people and playing with other dogs.

He is good around children, and cats – just wants to meet and sniff.

He loves pats and cuddles and playtime with his humans, and prefers to sleep on the bed with them.

Banjo is happy to go into his walking harness and walks well on the lead.

Once he gets to know his human well, he can also be let off-lead at safe ovals and dog parks without running away, especially if there are treats to come back to.

Banjo needs a home with easy access to a secure yard that he can potter and play in, and ideally a family who can play with him.

I’m sure he would also enjoy a friendly, gentle, playful doggie sibling to hang out with.

He is not used to being left on his own, but if he had access to a yard and stimulating toys, I believe he would get used to it.

I suspect though that a gentle friendly doggy companion might be his preferred option.

Banjo gets car sick, but can be distracted with dried chew treats from the pet shop such as venison ears and dried beef tendon/jerky straps which will work so long as the car is not traveling too fast.  I found that he was perfectly fine when distracted, until I started to drive at 80kms/hour on Hindmarsh Drive and then again on Canberra Avenue.

Banjo loves to chew cardboard and wood. He has not chewed any of my shoes, but once he chewed up a pair of my underpants while I was on the phone lol  He doesn’t really understand the phone – why are you talking to the air and not to him??  (:D)

He is trained to pee on a puppy pad if he is caught short when inside, but sometimes has the odd accident elsewhere or misses the pad.

'Rescued' is my favourite breed
