Roxy

Roxy

Animal ID No: ARF527
Rescue Date: 4 July 2020
Adopted Date: 16 August 2020

Roxy seems like an old soul. Don’t let her slow wander around the house fool you, when she wants to be she can be agile, including jumping up on the kitchen counter when your back is turned, when the right food is involved.

Roxy is fine with the cat she currently lives with and calm around children. She hasn’t had much training, but since being fostered she has learnt down, shake & touch. While Roxy understands commands when the right food incentive is provided, she is very stubborn. When it comes to getting on to the coach or bed, she is very stubborn, and will often ignore the off command. As such, Roxy requires a household who would be patient and willing to continue with her training. She would need someone who would be able to control her on the lead when she pulls, as she can be quite strong when she sets her mind to a certain direction. Roxy is unfortunately under the impression she is a lap dog, meaning she goes out of her way to lay on you and other pets in the household. As such, a household with small children is not recommended, and any other pets would need to be ok with having their space often invaded for snuggles.

Roxy’s favorite thing is to snuggle on the couch or bed, and would be best suited for a household where she can be part of the family. Roxy would prefer another dog, however this is not essential. She does suffer from separation issues however, so a home where her humans are home a significant portion of the time would be ideal. Noting Roxy’s agility, high secure fencing would be required on the property.

'Rescued' is my favourite breed
