Most dogs receive several enquiries, and we aim to match the right dog to the right home so that they can enjoy a happy life together. If your enquiry is unsuccessful, rest assured that the foster carer has carefully based their decision on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the dog’s needs.

Tilly is assessed as being in the Bronze category in our Perfect Match system and is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and available for $350 (incl GST)

Meet Miss Tilly an absolute sweetheart who has a story to tell.

As we are looking for a pretty unique home for Tilly we are asking for everyone’s help. Although she may not be the right dog for you, if you could help spread her story she will hopefully come to the attention of someone who is looking for a dog just like Tilly, because every dog deserves a second chance.

In Tilly’s previous home she learnt that jumping the fence was a good way to go on adventures, so she worked at it until she had perfected her technique and now is so good at it if she was a pole vaulter she would win all the gold medals, be going to the Olympics and everyone would know her name. As she is not a pole-vaulter and just a dog, the only place she is famous is at the DAS pound with all the rangers knowing her name.

So now she is in foster care and looking for a new home, but of course most people that are looking for a new family member don’t want a dog that can jump fences like a kangaroo, so Tilly and I had to put our thinking caps on.

First we had to write down all her good points – she is the sweetest dog, she is super smart, she bonds to her person hard and fast (although this does not seem to break her habit of fence jumping unfortunately), and she loves the car – so much so that when you open the door to get her out she just waits until you tell her that its time to do something else. In fact she loves the car so much that that is what gave us the idea that she could live in a car!

So are you doing the #van life and want a companion or about to caravan around Australia and want someone to share the sights with? What an awesome life for a dog!

Perhaps you are a tradie who spends their days at work sites and you are looking for a dog that is happy to chill in the passenger seat while you are busy working. Tilly loves a good sausage sandwich so she is more than happy to swing by Bunnings on the way home and grab one for a snack. Just remember no onion on her order thanks!

Second option is to find her a home that has no fences such as an apartment. Tilly loves to sleep the day away in a patch of sunlight streaming through the window as long as she can go for a stroll in the morning and evening. She does not waste her energy barking and could be the perfect housemate.

Third option is to find someone that works from home or is looking for a dog to take to work so she can be with her person and supervised throughout the day. Tilly is well socialised and loves people, she has some good basic training that would make her the ideal office mascot and the softest eyes that make you want to spill all your secrets to her.

Fourth option is someone who is happy to build (or already has) a secure enclosure with a roof. In foster care she spends some of her day in her enclosure and is learning that it is an awesome place to be as that is where she gets to do nose work, dig in a sandpit, eat out of her Kong, chew on bones and sleep in the sun. As long as she got to have a walk everyday, still go on her beloved car rides on occasion and spend all the time she could with her family when they were home and able to supervise her , Tilly would be quite happy living this life. Of course, she would need time to feel part of her new family before she was put into her new enclosure so we can help work with you to make her new enclosure as welcoming and safe as she is used to.

So what else do you need to know about Tilly?

Have I said yet just how sweet she is? Because she really, truly is the sweetest.

She loves nothing better then lying by your side while you watch a movie (and she won’t even steal the popcorn!).

She enjoys the company of other dogs and would happily live with another dog.

She would love to participate in some type of dog sport such as nose work, agility or maybe even obedience. (Or if we are being a little cheeky she would make a great contender in the American dog sport, Wall Climb / Vertical Jump, or perhaps teach you how to do Parkour!)

She is very clever and eager to please which makes her a dream to train; She has the usual good traits, like being toilet trained, happily sleeps in the crate overnight, is unconcerned by storms or rain and does not chew on things she shouldn’t.

Tilly cannot go to a home with cats as although she has not hurt any of my cats she has shown a lot of interest in them so rather than potentially put Tilly in a bad situation we are just saying no to all cats. Tilly would still love to go on adventures, just now she needs to learn that adventures with her people are far better than adventures on her own.
