Thank you for considering an ARF dog. ARF’s NSW Rehoming Organisation Number is R251 000 000

Most dogs receive several enquiries, and we aim to match the right dog to the right home so that they can enjoy a happy life together. If your enquiry is unsuccessful, rest assured that the foster carer has carefully based their decision on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the dog’s needs.

Archie is assessed as being in the Silver category in our Perfect Match system and is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and available for $350 (incl GST).

Archie is a friendly and loving young dog. He loves everyone he meets as hard as possible.

Archie is deaf but this doesn’t hold him back in anyway. He has quickly learned doggy sign language and is keen to learn more. Archie is enrolled in doggy obedience with All Round Good Hounds and would love to stay in school with his new humans. So far Archie knows how to sit, come, and to wait for his food. He’s also learning to drop and wait before leaving the house.

Archie has recovered well from surgery where his femoral head (top of back leg bone) was removed due to a longstanding hip dislocation. Archie has come a long way in his recovery since coming into foster care. His main rehab activity is now gentle walking every day, plus his normal playtime activities and simple obedience (e.g. standing to sit, and sitting to stand).

He loves his walks and has a great time sniffing the grass, duck poo etc that he encounters. His foster carer just reminds him to use his leg (rather than hopping) by giving him a gentle tug on his lead. Archie will need a family that will walk him each day and remind him to build on his great progress so far and use his leg rather than cheating and lifting it up. This hopping became a habit before his operation when he was still in pain and is something he’ll grow out of over the next few months with the right encouragement.

Archie is a real goofball. He’s always happy to see his Staffy foster sister and foster mum. He has no concept of personal space and follows his foster mum around the house like a little fluffy shadow.

Archie loves to give everyone big smooshy kisses all the time. He needs a family that would be happy to share a couch with him and accept his kisses and cuddle. His foster carer has learned to keep a cloth on hand to wipe the kisses off her glasses. This loving exuberance means Archie may not suit a home with very small children, although he would be a fabulous friend for older kids who are comfortable around dogs.

Archie is still a young dog. He thinks his big sister is just the coolest dog ever. He can test her patience sometimes when she’s not in mood to play, but he’s so much fun that she generally can’t resist a game. Archie would do well with another older, calmer dog to show him the ropes. He wouldn’t do well with a dog that wasn’t willing to share their toys.

Archie is a very friendly and sociable boy who has enjoyed attending events with other dogs, such as A Pooch Affair, going to day care, and having play dates with other friendly dogs. He’s a lot of fun to have around and keeps his foster carer feeling young and active ;)

Beach Boi

Beach Boi

Archie is a working breed and therefore will need a home that’s interested in a furry friend that complements their active lifestyle. Archie will need a daily walk. He loves going for drives and is very good in the car over long distances. Archie went to the beach recently and had a lot of fun swimming and running on the beach with his foster mum. His long legs, agility and endurance mean he could also be a great running buddy once he’s fully recovered and fully grown.

Whichever way you look at him , Archie is a delight!

Archie is the softest, sweetest dog that his foster carer has ever met. It will be very hard to say goodbye to him unless he finds the very best home. Please contact his foster carer if you’d like to find out more about Archie, and whether he’s the perfect dog for you.
