Thank you for considering an ARF dog. ARF’s NSW Rehoming Organisation Number is R251 000 000

Most dogs receive several enquiries, and we aim to match the right dog to the right home so that they can enjoy a happy life together. If your enquiry is unsuccessful, rest assured that the foster carer has carefully based their decision on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the dog’s needs.

Archie is assessed as being in the Silver category in our Perfect Match system and is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and available for $350 (incl GST).

Archie is a friendly and loving young dog. He loves everyone he meets as hard as possible.

Archie is deaf but this doesn’t hold him back in anyway. He has quickly learned doggy sign language and is keen to learn more. Archie is enrolled in doggy obedience with All Round Good Hounds and would love to stay in school with his new humans. So far Archie knows how to sit, come, and to wait for his food. He’s also learning to drop and wait before leaving the house.

Archie is recovering from surgery where his femoral head (top of back leg bone) was removed due to a longstanding hip dislocation. ARF has generously invested in Archie’s recovery using hydrotherapy with excellent results. Archie needs a very special home that will continue his hydrotherapy potentially for the rest of his life. He will pay you back with all the hugs and kisses you could ever want. Archie would especially love a home with a pool that he could swim in everyday, and where he would be fed a very lean and high quality raw food diet, to keep his weight down. Maintenance of his weight below 20 kilograms will be necessary to help delay the onset of arthritis in his back and good leg in his golden years.

Archie is the sort of dog who needs to be kept engaged with tasks. Obedience is a great outlet for his intelligence. He will also need at least one long walk every day. A walk in the morning and dog park in the evening would be perfect. Archie currently attends doggy day care at Hanrob and loves playing with his friends all day long.

Archie loves his big foster sister. He looks up to her and copies her. If rehomed with another dog, he would need a calm and patient older dog that is willing to play games and who won’t be upset of stressed by Archie’s attention. For example, Archie loves to lick his foster sister’s face a lot, and sometimes he will nip at her teets! She lets him know that’s not appropriate, but he still thinks it’s a bit of fun. In this way, he is very much still a baby who needs good role models and constant supervision.

Archie is the softest, sweetest dog that his foster carer has ever met. It will be very hard to say goodbye to him unless he finds the very best home. Please contact his foster carer if you’d like to find out more about Archie, and whether he’s the perfect dog for you.
