Dash - 5

Hi everyone, my name is Dash! If you are looking for a gorgeous, fun-loving man to join your family, look no further! I’m a German shepherd cross, but I’m really not sure what I am crossed with. My foster mum says it does not really matter, as I am such a sweet and handsome boy. I just want to be loved; I promise I will be your best cuddle buddy!

My foster mum says that I am a big boy and I can take up a lot of space with my presence. I don’t know about that, personally I think I am just the perfect size to be a lapdog! I like to have a nice run and play in the morning to start off the day, however, after that I am quite happy to snooze and hang out the rest of the day.

I recently discovered the absolute best thing ever! Tennis balls! I love chasing them! I am not too sure about sharing them at this stage, and I am also not quite sure what people mean when they ask me to ‘bring them back’.. But my foster mum says that apparently, I can learn to understand all of that with some training, whatever that is. Training must be good though, as when I came to my foster home, I really did not understand much of what the people there were asking or expecting of me. However, now I understand some human language, apparently due to this training thing! I understand ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘shake’, ‘wait’, ‘no’, ‘leave it’, ‘off’ and ‘come’, and the best thing is the treats when I show people that I know what they mean! I am still not quite sure about something called ‘loose lead walking’ – I just want to get where we are going, and people are so slow! But my foster mum says that I can learn this, and also says that further training would be good for me to help me be a good canine citizen, whatever that means.

I currently live both indoors and outdoors. I do love having company though and would love a home where I can be part of your family. I don’t want to be left alone in the backyard all the time, that is just boring. If I’m bored, I might just get out of your yard and find some other friends to play with.

I love having friends! I love people (they give cuddles, treats and scratches!), and really like getting along with everybody. However, I am really not sure about those little humans that are around (I think they call them children). If you ask me, they are pretty scary. My foster mum says that due to my size and clumsiness a home without little humans would be best.

I also love having doggie friends, however, sometimes I think that large dominant males can be plain rude and need to be taught some manners. My foster mum says that my new home should either not have any other dogs, or a nice and friendly, easy-going dog of my own size. And have you ever met those small things they call cats?! They are SO MUCH FUN! However, my foster mum says I try to have a little too much fun with them, and my new home probably should not have any of those (or other small pets).

Anyway, I would love to meet you if you think I could fit into your home! Please contact my foster mum, and we could have a date!
– Dash
