Thank you for considering an ARF dog. Most dogs receive several enquiries, and we aim to match the right dog to the right home so that they can enjoy a happy life together. If your enquiry is unsuccessful, rest assured that the foster carer has carefully based their decision on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the dog’s needs.

Fey is assessed as being in the Bronze category in our Perfect Match system and will be desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and available for $350 (incl GST) once her quarantine and vet work are completed.

UPDATE 7 March 2019 Fey is considering her options.

PIC 2

Fey is not just a stunning girl — once she knows you, she is also sweet as pie and affectionate.

PIC 3

This gorgeous girl loves people and affection closing her eyes with bliss when getting pats. And it is a pleasure to oblige, as she has the softest and lushest coat (which will require regular brushing to ensure it doesn’t become matted).

PIC 4

Fey’s favourite thing to do ever is playing fetch. She will drop the ball, and throw herself in a drop, ready to sprint after it at full speed, then strutting around with the ball in her mouth for a victory lap, before starting again.

PIC 5

But when she first arrived in care, Fey was frazzled and stressed, and showed that dealing with stress was not her strength. She was slow to trust, and quick to show her teeth, getting on the offensive to warn any perceived threat away.

PIC 6

Since realising that she doesn’t need to deal with scary things by herself, she has put those teeth away, and has been a very loving girl.

PIC 7

But children would be too erratic and worrying for Fey, so she is looking for a home without children, so that she doesn’t feel the need to revert to such drastic measures to protect herself.

PIC 8

Fey is finding living with other dogs to be very stressful, and although she has been able to cohabit while in foster care (with close management), she definitely wants to be an only dog in her forever home, so that she can relax. She has made it clear that this is not negotiable, so please don’t apply if you have another dog.

PIC 9

This girl is looking for a very specific home. To win Fey’s heart, you will not only have lots of love to offer, you will also understand the need to balance that with predictability, rules, and boundaries, so she can relax knowing someone has everything in hand.

PIC 10

Her new humans must be willing to take the time to gain her trust, listen to what she says with her body language, and be committed to continuing her training, to help her work through her doubts and insecurities and build her confidence.

PIC 11

Fey would benefit from attending group training classes, so that she can become more comfortable around other dogs, without the pressure of having to say hello (we can recommend good local trainers).

PIC 12

In return for this time and training, her new humans will have a very loyal, affectionate and playful friend for life!
