UPDATE Jan 15:  Harper’s forever home fell through so he is “back on the market”

harper - 3

Harper is a smart and inquisitive pup who is learning fast and looking for a fun loving family to call his forever home. He looks dashing in his yellow collar, comes when his name is called and we are seeing his cute personality grow each day during this early stage in care. He is learning positive interaction skills with our two adult dogs (Golden Retriever and Kelpie).

Harper loves both indoors and outdoors exploring in the garden. He has quickly learnt to toilet outside and in time, Harper will be able to sleep all through the night without a toilet break. He has lively bursts of playful puppy energy, loves to jump steps and can entertain himself most of the time with toys but will then soundly sleep on his favourite mat often at your feet.

harper - 2

He loves his toy monkey, tug-of-war rope, chewing his kong with peanut butter and is expanding his tastebuds daily. Harper travels well in the car in his crate and is starting his leash training. He is quickly learning good meal manners and is comfortably doing the sit, drop and touch commands. Harper’s confidence has grown through his exploration of the yard, sniffing around the garden and by his love of chasing water from the hose or gulping it.

Harper is meeting lots of strangers and new things to help him get used to the big outside world. His socialisation will need to continue in his new home so he becomes a well adjusted doggy citizen. He can chew things as puppies do, so regular distractions with chewy toys will help to instil good habits. At this stage, he’s not been exposed to cats or children and he’s learning the no-go zones in the house such as the lounge chair and kitchen.

Version 2

If you are interested in Harper, please contact his foster carer to arrange a time to meet him.
