Pets And Wildlife Safety (PAWS) Day 2024 is an important event designed to educate our community on how to keep an animal – domestic or native – safe. This event will bring together charities and organisations from across Canberra and the surrounding region to educate and inform the community on what to do to keep an animal safe. This could be any situation including (but not limited to!):
• What do you do if you find a snake in your yard? Who do you call?
• Who do you call if you find a kangaroo hit by a car?
• How do you update your pet’s microchip details?
• What are some basic pet first aid all pet owners should know?
• How do you make a will to make sure your pet is cared for?
• How do you make a bushfire evacuation plan which includes your pets?
• What do you do if you find a turtle trying to cross the road?
• What are the laws regarding pet ownership in the ACT?
PAWS Day 2024 will provide attendees the opportunity to get all the information they need before an emergency so they are prepared to help an animal and keep them safe.
Throughout the day there will be talks from various organisations including RSPCA, ACT Pet Crisis Support, Wombat Rescue, Animal Defenders Office, Canberra Mobile Vets and more!
There will be food and drinks, along with a kid’s game corner, and face painting!
Entry is by gold coin donation with a free tote bag for you to store all your flyers in (until stocks run out).
This event is proudly sponsored by Icon Water.
