Jacob

Animal ID No: ARF1272
Rescue Date: 19 October 2022
Adopted Date: 19 February 2023

Jacob is a 9 month old cross breed pup with an attractive smooth, silky, brindle coat. He has great camouflage. He is now about 20 kgs in weight and is not expected to grow much larger.

He has an affectionate and outgoing nature , greeting other people with confidence and the expectation he will be immediately loved. He gets on well with his foster dog family , and loves  games of tug , chase and wrestling. He is friendly towards other dogs met on walks and has engaged in off lead games on the beach and in parks with other similarly sociable dogs.

He is adept at reading other dogs and will make himself scarce if they indicate they are not in the mood to play. He has a great interest in tennis balls, and will bring them back for a re toss if the kelpies don’t beat him to it. He is also keen on ducks and rabbits, but has learnt to walk past the kangaroos.

Jake has taken to the water and likes nothing more than a swim or a boat ride, though he can rock the boat a bit.

He is treat motivated, has a nice sit, recall, wait for dinner, and though he uses his crate he really likes sleeping near his people.

He is fully house trained  and will use the dog doors or indicate when he needs a door to be opened. He did have some trouble with car sickness but has now successfully traveled to the coast and hundreds of kilometres to Melbourne, with the help of a little ginger tablet for long trips.

This sociable little man is fully vaccinated and de sexed and waiting for his family.
