Severus

This handsome boy has come such a long way since being in care and has proved that he not only possesses the good looks but he also has the brain. He his smashing through training and has since learned how to sit, drop, place and several other things that have helped build his confidence. Severus is quite shy at first when meeting new people and experiencing new places but it doesn’t take very long before he warms up and becomes the happy pup we know today. His leash manners are pretty good but will need improvement and ongoing training when he finds his new home.

His house manners are wonderful and he will alert you by running to the door when he needs to toilet and will most definitely let you know when he is finished and ready to come back inside. In the house he loves to chew on his toys and play fetch down the corridor but most importantly Severus loves to snuggle up to his human. Severus is also crate trained so can be left with a toy stuffed with some treats while you are away for short periods of time. He is also quite happy to sleep crated at night time and sleeps right through most nights.

Despite Severus being a straight A student with his training, he is yet to improve his socialising with other dogs. He absolutely loves other dogs just a little too much and gets very excited, but unfortunately not every dog likes to play this way so Severus has a bit of a hard time understanding that. Severus would be best suited as an only dog or possibly with a bit of an older dog who is willing to correct his behaviour when he is being a bit too playful. Exposure to other dogs will benefit him greatly but supervision will be needed so you can help guide him to play nicely and have excellent manners.

As he is only 6 months old there is still a lot to learn so his new family will need some experience with training and be prepared to keep up with his training and gently expose him more to the outside world to build his confidence. Severus is a very high energy dog who requires a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. Kids over the age of 8 would be most appropriate as he still jumps up when excited.
