Roco

Roco

Animal ID No: ARF1600
Rescue Date: 14 November 2023
Adopted Date: 20 January 2024

Roco is an adorable, quiet dog who is calm most of the time. Roco is very food focused and can been motivated to do pretty much anything as long as there is food involved. He hates being in a crate or a cage but he will happily sleep in his own bed but he could be convinced to jump up on the bed.

Though he is quite a petite dog he is also very spritely meaning he can run very fast and jump up on beds with ease. Roco is pretty hard of hearing and with his added shitzu trait of being arrogant he can be hard to communicate with but that just means he will need to be check up on.

He has been living with our two female labradoodles who are ages 11 and 13. While I did take him a little while to warm up to the dogs he is quite comfortable with them now. He is okay with other dogs as long as they don’t get too up in his face. I am not sure how he is with other pets such as cats or birds.

Roco is okay to stay outside while I have been at work. He has had some trouble adjusting to our house and has subsequently done his business inside from time to time. It takes him a while to get the lay of the land. It would be a good idea to leave the door open for him to go out regularly for the first few days. We take him out to the back yard to do his business, but he does take a minute or two to do go to the toilet.

He doesn’t need loads of exercise but enjoys going for a walk and/or sniffing around outside for a while. He doesn’t fetch or really take a liking to balls but we have found he enjoys having a stuffed animal around to snuggle with and bring to you. While Roco isn’t an overly affectionate dog he does enjoy being in your company and will snuggle up to you next to the tv or sleep in his bed next to you.

Roco is an adorable, sweet, excitable funny little dog who will be the extra member of your family you never knew you needed.
