Frankie

Animal ID No: ARF1395
Rescue Date: 25 March 2023
Adopted Date: 3 June 2023

Why hey there! My name is Frankie and I’m the cutest lil guy with the biggest lil ears you’ll ever meet! My foster family can’t decide if Frankie is short for Frances or Franklyn, so they lovingly call me Frankles. They also think I’m probably a Chihuahua cross – maybe with a Jack Russell Terrier.

I cannot overstate how much I LOVE snuggles and pats. If you were my forever hooman, you would never be able to sit down again without me in your lap! Even if you stand still too long, I will plonk myself down on your foot because that’s almost like a pat and I’m happiest when we’re together.

Up there with pats are walkies. Ermahgerd – I get just so excited about them and I will tell you if you’re too slow getting out the door! I’m enthusiastic and curious, but can pull a bit on the lead (good thing I’m so little), and be reactive to other dogs and weird things I haven’t seen before (like prams). But my foster mum and I have been working on it, and I’m a bit more chill if you pick me up and give me a cuddle.

I think balls and toys are the bee’s knees and running around with them is my favourite (and I guess it’s ok when you throw them too). I’m a lover not a fighter, so while a little bit of tug-of-war is fun I’m not really that competitive – I just like that we’re doing it together. My foster brother and I don’t play often, but he’s my safety blanket and we snuggle a lot (we’ve even moved into the same crate together).

I’m a smart little boy who just wants to please, so I’ll do well if supported to continue my training – though I’ll work harder for some treaties than others! I’m toilet trained and a pro at using the dog door (even when wearing the Cone of Shame!). I also sleep through the night in my crate which is my safe space when I want a little break, though I still like being able to keep an eye on you and the action.

I’ve had a bit of a rough start in life, and can be reactive on the lead because I haven’t had the chance to explore the world. It means I’ll need you to be around for the first few weeks to love and support me while I transition into my forever home and become the bestest dog I can be.

My foster mum says she won’t consider parting with me to a home where I won’t have a fur friend or where my hoomans are out a lot. How can I love and snuggle you to bits if you’re not around!? I’ll also need a secure fence and decent daily walkies. I don’t like lots of loud noises and yelling, so a home with smol hoomans under 10 probably isn’t my jam. I haven’t been tested with pets other than fellow doggos.

If you think you’re the right home for me, my foster family would love to hear from you! Please fill out the form below with as much detail as possible about what life in your home would be like 🙂

Me playing with my ball

Me throwing the ball to myself

Me learning how to get treats from a Kong Gyro

Me and my foster brother being super naughty and wrestling on the bed

Me yelling at my foster brother because he’s ignoring me and won’t let me look out the window too

'Rescued' is my favourite breed
