Griff

Adopted Date: 16 September 2021

Griff is a sweet and gentle ~8year old dog who just looooves people. With a perfected lean-in for cuddles, he laps up any attention directed his way. At ~30kg, Griff is a lovely medium-large sized dog.

So far in foster care, Griff has shown that he is house-trained and well-mannered. He is toilet trained, and sleeps quietly all night long.

While he is very politely tolerating the affections of his new 1-year old puppy foster-sister with patience if not enthusiasm, he would probably do better with a slightly older, more settled, dog companion. He is also currently living with two cats, and while he is very manageable around them, he would do best in a home without any cat overlords.

Griff came into foster care needing urgent surgery on a hematoma (burst blood vessel) in his ear. This surgery has gone well, and it shouldn’t be a reoccuring issue – he has just been left with a lovably misshapen cauliflower ear from the scar tissue. He also received a course of antibiotics for an ear infection, which seems to have done the job, and he has been vaccinated and wormed.

Griff would love a home where he is welcomed as part of the family. He knows “sit” and “wait”, and is very polite inside the house. He would benefit from further training on leash manners whilst out-and-about, as he can be strong if he wants to head somewhere to smell something. He is very treat motivated, so that will help with training!

He has a moderate amount of energy and loves to chase a ball, so he will need a walk or a play session most days. Once he’s had that, he is quite happy to chill, and he seems ok so far about his people being away for periods during the day.

If you think there is a Griff shaped hole in your life, let us know!
