Louis

Louis

Animal ID No: ARF1641
Rescue Date: 2 January 2024
Adopted Date: 26 January 2024

Louis is an endearing little companion who thrives on being part of your daily adventures. His love for toys is obvious! Whether it’s chasing balls, playing with ropes, or gleefully defluffing soft toys to uncover that elusive squeaker. Ideal for an active household, with regular walks and enrichment activities, Louis is ready to channel his spirited Jack Russell puppy energy. A couch potato he is not, but he would do well in a calm, stable environment.

While Louis may initially approach new experiences and people with a touch of uncertainty, he eagerly embraces training and confidence-building activities. He will need a home that will set good boundaries and continue with his training. Once he feels at ease, he transforms into a playful, perky companion, adding a burst of joy to your life.

In his foster home, Louis revels in the company of his foster sister, engaging in games of chase that can go on for hours. Learning the art of relaxation, he takes short well-deserved naps, ready to bounce back into playtime when the moment is right. Louis would thrive in a patient and playful environment, ideally with a canine sibling, although introductions should be handled with care as initially he can be fearful of other dogs.

Louis needs a home that is understanding that affection is on his terms. He does not like when people approach his face for pats, nor does he like being overly manhandled. Instead he prefers a slow introduction to affection. He will sometimes sit next to you, but often he prefers to relax on his own part of the sofa.

Louis has mastered the art of being a good boy, he is crate and toilet trained, and with a slight penchant for particular food choices, he’s discovered a delightful mix of meat and kibble that satisfies his palate.

His adventurous spirit extends to bug chasing, and while he hasn’t been tested with cats or pocket pets, we think his innate chasing instincts would suggest he’d be best off in a home without.

Louis would be okay with children, but he would prefer a home with older children or dog savvy children that have a calm energy.

If you believe Louis could be the perfect addition to your family, kindly reach out to his foster carer, sharing details about the life you can offer this delightful little guy.
