Mandy

Mandy

Animal ID No: ARF714
Rescue Date: 9 April 2021
Adopted Date: 12 November 2021

Mandy is a very sweet, quiet little dog who has made some great progress since coming into foster care earlier this year.  It seems she and her dad and brother, were left outside for quite some time so they missed out on some important human socialisation.  Mandy has adapted to living with her foster families, human and dog – and despite her initial timidity, is showing that she would really love to be more involved.

Being Mandy’s owner you’ll need to keep working with her on her fear – she still isn’t a fan of having her lead put on, but with gentle persuasion it’s possible.  She doesn’t like storms.  Some noises really frighten her but she will often come to you or ask to be picked up if she’s feeling very scared.  Other times (like when trying to get out for a walk) she won’t let you near here.  She’s not a fan of the car but is learning that a car ride always ends with something fun like a visit to friends and family or a walk.

Mandy is looking for a home with another calm doggy friend – and an owner who is very patient, though consistent to help her keep moving forward.  Because of her fears she will be better suited to a place where there isn’t any little humans.

She’s 6 years old, however is spritely and wakes up in the best mood every morning!  She has had her vet work done and only has a few teeth left to look after. She will need to be groomed regularly, and doesn’t mind having a bath and a trim.

She is shy but with your patience and love – and patience is really the key here – she will be able to feel more confident and comfortable with you and life in general.

'Rescued' is my favourite breed
