Mitzi

Mitzi

Animal ID No: ARF1165
Rescue Date: 8 July 2022
Adopted Date: 2 September 2022

Introducing Mitzi, the big girl with a bigger heart.

Mitzi came into ARF as a surrender, as her previous owner sadly passed. As an older girl (11 years), she is looking for somewhere to spend her remaining years in a quieter life with (a lot) of space for her to snooze.

Mitzi is a gentle giant, who likes to know what her people are doing. While she has a big bark, that’s only to let you know she heard someone outside. When the door opens, the tail wags and she just loves everyone!

Despite her age, She is always down for a walk, and is amazing on lead, (and even off-lead on occasion). She doesn’t pull, is very attentive to her owner, and isn’t reactive to other dogs, people or animals (ducks like to cause a commotion at Mawson Ponds but she doesn’t bat an eyelid).

Mitzi sleeps well through the day and night, enjoying her big bed, and is well toilet trained.

Given her sheer size, Mitzi will need to go to a home without smaller children or frail elderly (She likes to show her affection by pushing herself against you, and there is a lot of weight behind it!) In addition to her large frame, Mitzi is a plus sized girl and currently on weight management food which her new owner would need to continue- She is not greedy, nor is she a bench surfer, but she will gladly eat anything she is given.

**Please note: Mitzi is not currently desexed, and any potential new home will need to work with ARF to ensure this happens once her weight is down*
