Zeek

Zeek

Animal ID No: ARF1377
Rescue Date: 1 May 2023
Adopted Date: 5 August 2023

My name is Zeek. I am a happy, confident young man, and quite good looking if I may say so myself.  I love to follow my foster mum around the garden or the paddock.  She says I am her wingman, whatever that means.
I can be exuberant and excitable as I am just a puppy at heart. My new owner must continue to set clear boundaries for me so I can be my best self.
I love playing with my foster dog siblings and I particularly like playing in water with other dogs.
If there are no other dogs around, I can also entertain myself with a toy (or a nap).
A daily walk with plenty of time to sniff is essential for me.  I need to work on my recall and loose lead walking, especially when there are exciting things around like cars and other dogs.  Structured training would help me focus and perfect my recall and walking on lead. Food and toys motivate me and I am a fast learner.  I would love to be taught lots of tricks.
I travel well in the car, mostly asleep.  I love an outing or just spending time in the car while my foster mum runs errands.
At night I sleep quietly in my crate.  When my foster mum is working in her home office I will settle nearby and wait for her to move.
My ideal home would be on acreage or a large suburban block in a quiet area.  I need room to do my zoomies everyday. A doggy pal at home, frequent play dates or people who are home more often than not would suit me best.
Note: Zeek is not suitable for a home with children or with cats or pockets pets. If there are chickens in his new home it will be essential that they have their own secure enclosure.
Previous experience with working breeds is highly desirable.  Zeek is a very smart boy who tries hard to please and is responsive to training.   He needs a strong and consistent leader to help him become a great companion.

'Rescued' is my favourite breed
