Comet

Comet

Animal ID No: ARF1287
Rescue Date: 27 November 2022
Adopted Date: 4 February 2023

If I had to think of one word to describe Comet it would be: sweetheart.

Young Comet is an absolute sweetheart with a lovely nature and will keep you endlessly amused.
She has so much character and zest for life and wants to spend her days doing whatever you are doing. She would love to be involved in as much as your life as possible.

She is very smart and has been easy to train. Since coming into care she has learned to sit and wait for food, stay, bed (go to place), get down (from furniture) – just to name a few.
She has also been toilet trained.

She is pretty good on the lead, but she does pull towards birds and can be reactive when she sees other dogs. However we have been working really hard on this and she has been improving every day.
She will need someone who is willing to continue her training and confidence building in this area.

Comet is still a bit of a puppy which comes with bursts of energy and a bit of mouthiness. She is still learning that hands/arms are not toys and can be swayed away with a chewy toy or a carrot.
For this reason, she would not be suitable in a home with young children, cats, birds or pocket pets.

She is quite an agile little live-wire and loves to sprint around the backyard so a medium-large yard with secure fencing is a must.
She also thoroughly loves games, toys and puzzles and is happiest when she has a variety of enrichment activities in her day. She is happy to play puzzles by herself but also loves social games like tug-of-war (either with another dog or human) or fetch.

Comet is a snuggle bug who loves cuddling up with her head on your lap on the couch or bed, but can sleep soundly through the night on her own bed as long as it’s in the same room as another person/dog.

If Comet sounds like a potential new best friend, shoot through an application below.
