Rosie

Rosie

Animal ID No: ARF1315
Rescue Date:
Adopted Date: 4 March 2023

Rosie, or Baby Ro as she is affectionately known to her foster family, is an excitable little snuggle bug who just wants to be with her humans. She is estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old. Rosie loves being involved in whatever you’re doing (bush walks, beach days or hanging out the washing: she wants in!), but will also happily snooze in a corner while you work from home just to be near you.

Rosie will fetch and return toys with the real intent of instigating a game of (extremely competitive) tug-of-war. She is a massive fan of walkies and even the most indirect look her way will get her little curly tail going!

Rosie has basic obedience training – “sitting” wholeheartedly; “waiting” for her dinner; and heading into her bed/crate as part of the “bed time” routine. She has learnt to use the dog door (Rosie is toilet trained) and knows which toys are hers. Rosie is working on other skills and learning road sense. Continuing training in her new home will help her be the best doggo she can be.

In her enthusiasm, Rosie can initially pull on the lead and will need daily walks. She is very sociable with other people and dogs. Rosie enjoys doggy day care, but can become vocal about her enthusiasm to make new puppy friends and isn’t afraid to stick up for herself (#smallbutfierce). Rosie can provide a running commentary in the car initially, but settles after a little while or the opportunity to expend some energy (road-tripping to Brisbane and back like a boss!).

Rosie would thrive in a house where her humans are around a lot to let her join in their activities and adventures, and with a fur sibling who is up for wrestles and zoomies. She has not had the opportunity to meet cats or other types of pets. Rosie would do best with children aged 10 years and over who can respect her boundaries: she loves hugs, snuggles and pats; but not being picked up.

Rosie will be able to go to her forever home in March 2023.
