Sammy

Sammy

Animal ID No: ARF1296
Rescue Date: 20 November 2022
Adopted Date: 28 November 2022

Seeking for approval for Sammy to come into care.

Yesterday (Saturday 5/11/22) Karen and I went to Stirling to meet a lovely little Shih Tzu X Sammy. Male, roughly 10 years old, desexed.

Sammy was lovely when we met him, he came into the lounge room sniffed us both and then went and sat on the lounge. He didn’t bark or anything like that, he was curious and was friendly.

Sammy currently lives with another small dog, 2 indoor cats, 2 outdoor cats and goes up to the horse paddocks each afternoon with Sharon. Sharon has said that he is good with all the animals, isn’t a barker, is happy to be outside during the day and then is inside when someone is home. He is toilet-trained and will scratch at the door when he wants to go outside. He is happy to be on his own during the day when Sharon is at work (8 hours a day) but if it’s raining she will leave him inside where he will just sleep all day on his bed.

He doesn’t have any behavioural issues, and besides him desperately needing a dental he otherwise appears to be in good health.

Sharon has no records of Sammy being vaccinated since he was adopted from QBN Pound 7 years ago. He has not been flea or tick treated for a long time and was wormed in about August this year. He is microchipped but will need to confirm which state. Sammy will need to have a dental and more than likely a number of teeth removed.

Sammy is being surrendered as he was originally adopted as her daughter’s dog but since the daughter has grown up and moved out, she doesn’t want to take Sammy. Sharon is in the process of moving into a smaller place and is looking to rehome him and a few other pets before she moves (in 2 weeks’ time).

'Rescued' is my favourite breed
